Do potty training books actually help?

Yes - a story where the child is the hero who succeeds gives them a positive, pressure-free model to follow, and makes the routine feel exciting rather than stressful.

What age is a potty training book for?

Best around ages 2-4, when children are learning the routine and love seeing themselves as the capable star of the story.

Will reading it actually make them try?

It gives them the words and a version of themselves who has already managed it. That is not the same as making it happen, and we would rather say so - parents use these the way they use any story at this age, as something to point at when the moment comes.

We are in the middle of it and it is going badly. Is now the wrong time?
