Books for more than one child

One book each, not two children in one book. That is a deliberate choice, and this is the reason for it.

It is the question people ask most often about personalized books, usually like this: "All the books I have seen only have room for one name." The honest answer is that we could put two children in one book, and we do not, because it makes both of them look less like themselves.

The illustration holds one face so it stays that child across all twelve chapters. Asked to hold two, it averages them - and both children end up looking like a third person who is neither of them. See how the likeness is tested

Making the second one is quick

Make the first book as normal. At the end, choose Make one for another child - the occasion, who it is from, the art style and the story all carry over, so the second child needs only their name, age and photo. And once a child has been drawn, any later book for them needs no photo at all: we keep the illustrated portrait and delete the photograph. What happens to the photo

Questions

Common questions

Can two children share one book?
No, and it is a deliberate choice rather than a missing feature. The illustration holds one face so it stays that child across all twelve chapters; asked to hold two, it starts averaging them together and both children end up looking like a third person. Twins and siblings get a book each, and each book is unambiguously theirs.
Is there a discount for more than one?
Yes. Two books ordered together are 10% off, three or more are 15% off, applied automatically at checkout. Two hardcovers come to $77.22 instead of $85.80.
Do I have to upload a photo for each child?
One photo per child, once. After a child has been drawn we keep only the illustrated portrait and delete the photograph, so any later book for that same child needs no upload at all - you pick them from a list.
Can my twins have the same story?
Yes. Choose the story once and it carries to the next child, so twins can have matching books with each of them as the hero of their own. You can also pick a different story for each, which is what most people do when there is an age gap.
What about a big brother or big sister book for a new baby?
That is one of the commonest reasons people order. The story marks the child becoming an older sibling, with them as the hero of it - the new baby is present in the story without being a second illustrated character.
Can I ship them to different addresses?
Not in a single order. Books ordered together ship together, so for grandchildren in different houses place one order per address - the bundle discount applies per order.
