A peek inside

How the adventure unfolds

These are just sample lines. Your book is written fresh for your child - their name woven through every page, with the words, sentence length and tone tuned to their age, and shaped by the story, interests and details you choose.

A child at a window in the morning, coat on indoors, watching an empty street.
Chapter One

Waiting by the Window

Your child pressed a nose to the glass, because waiting is the longest part of any big day.

A child at a window in the morning, coat on indoors, watching an empty street.

The doorbell going, and going again, with the hallway already too full of coats.
Chapter Two

The Doorbell

Then the doorbell went, and went again, and the house filled up with coats and voices and cake.

The doorbell going, and going again, with the hallway already too full of coats.

The whole room, everybody in it, and one small person in the middle of all of them.
Chapter Three

All of Us

By the end everyone was squeezed into one room, and your child was right in the middle of it.

The whole room, everybody in it, and one small person in the middle of all of them.

These three sample the opening, middle and ending of a 12-chapter book. All twelve are drawn with your child in them when the book is made: the cover and chapter one free in your preview, the remaining eleven once you order.

Is this the one?

Who the Day Everyone Came is for

The Day Everyone Came is the birthday book for a big family. You add photos of a parent and a grandparent, and the doorbell simply keeps going until the house is full. There is no plot beyond the arriving, which is deliberate: the point is that all of it was for your child.

Two to eight. Younger children enjoy the doorbell and the counting of arrivals. From six the last chapter, where your child realises they were the reason for the whole day, is the one that lands. Reading level chosen at setup, and it holds up read aloud to a room of relatives.

For Talia, whose fourth birthday brought twenty-three people and one very tired dog.
Every book opens on a dedication page. You write your own - this is one that suits this story.
