Who the Family Quest is for

The Family Quest puts the whole household in the book: you add photos of both parents, and everyone helps with the hunt. It is a treasure story where the adults are genuinely useful rather than decorative, and the last door is one only your child can open. Bought for birthdays and for holidays.

Four to eight. It needs a child who can follow a chain of clues across chapters, which is usually five or six. Younger children enjoy the rummaging and miss the structure. Reading level chosen at setup, and the higher setting keeps the clues genuinely solvable rather than merely decorative.
