Look, No Training Wheels! spends most of its length not succeeding. There is wobbling, there is a fall, and the whoosh only arrives at the end. That order is deliberate and it is why the book is given to a child who has decided they cannot do it, rather than to one who already can.

Two to eight, though it earns its place between four and six when the stabilisers actually come off. A younger child enjoys it as a bike book. Reading level chosen at setup keeps the falling-over chapter short if that helps.
