My Very First Year is the first-birthday book. It is bought for the party, usually by whoever has been taking the photographs all year and has noticed that the year itself was never written down anywhere. The twelve chapters are the twelve months, so the book ends exactly where the party begins.
Nought to four. At one it is the pictures, the repetition and hearing their own name; from about two and a half the subject becomes irresistible, because "when you were a baby" is the best story a small child knows and this one is about them. Reading level chosen at setup.
