A peek inside

How the adventure unfolds

These are just sample lines. Your book is written fresh for your child - their name woven through every page, with the words, sentence length and tone tuned to their age, and shaped by the story, interests and details you choose.

The idea arriving: your child stopped halfway across a playground, watching somebody else.
Chapter One

A Little Idea

Your child woke up with a big idea: today would be a day for being extra kind.

The idea arriving: your child stopped halfway across a playground, watching somebody else.

One kind thing being done quietly, with nobody watching except the reader.
Chapter Two

One Kind Thing

Your child filled the birds' feeder, helped a lost puppy find its way, and watered the thirsty flowers - and every kind act came sparkling back.

One kind thing being done quietly, with nobody watching except the reader.

The same kindness coming back around, from a direction your child was not looking.
Chapter Three

Kindness Grows

By evening the whole garden felt warmer, all because your child started with one kind thing.

The same kindness coming back around, from a direction your child was not looking.

These three sample the opening, middle and ending of a 12-chapter book. All twelve are drawn with your child in them when the book is made: the cover and chapter one free in your preview, the remaining eleven once you order.

Is this the one?

Who the Kindness Quest is for

The Kindness Quest is the one to choose when the lesson has to arrive without a lecture. Nobody in it is unkind, nothing is corrected, and the point is made by showing a small act travelling outward until it comes back. It is a common choice after a difficult stretch at school, and a common gift from a grandparent.

Two to eight. Younger children follow the chain of events as a game of pass-it-on. From about six a child starts to see that the last chapter loops back to the first, and that noticing is the whole reward. Vocabulary is set by the reading level chosen at setup.

For Adi, who gave away the better half of the biscuit and never mentioned it.

Common questions

What age is The Kindness Quest for?

The Kindness Quest is written for ages 2-8. The story is generated at the reading level you pick during setup, so the same book works at the younger or older end of that range.

How is The Kindness Quest personalized?

You upload one photo of your child. That photo becomes the illustrated hero - same face shape, hair and skin tone - and stays recognizable across all 12 chapters. Their name, age and a dedication are woven in too.

How long is the book, and what formats are there?

Twelve illustrated chapters, one full-page illustration per chapter. Digital is $14.90, softcover $38.90 and hardcover $42.90 plus shipping; the hardcover is a 8x8 inch matt-laminated keepsake.

Can I see it before I pay?

Yes. The cover and the whole first chapter - artwork included - are generated free. You only pay if you want the remaining eleven chapters.
