A peek inside

How the adventure unfolds

These are just sample lines. Your book is written fresh for your child - their name woven through every page, with the words, sentence length and tone tuned to their age, and shaped by the story, interests and details you choose.

Chapter One

A Pile of Parts

From a heap of bolts and gears, your child built a small, wobbly robot and pressed the button.

The moment it works: lights on, one arm raised, your child's hands still on its back.
Chapter Two

Beep-Boop, Hello!

The robot's eyes lit up and it beeped happily - your child had built a real friend.

Chapter Three

The Great Fix-Up

Together, your child and the little robot fixed every squeaky, broken thing in town.

These three sample the opening, middle and ending of a 12-chapter book. All twelve are drawn with your child in them when the book is made: the cover and chapter one free in your preview, the remaining eleven once you order.

Is this the one?

Who My Robot Friend is for

My Robot Friend is for the child who takes things apart. The robot is built from a pile of parts on the first page, breaks in the middle, and is fixed by your child rather than by an adult, which is the reason the book exists. It is a strong choice for a child who is between friendships and would rather be building than joining in.

Two to eight. Very young children follow the beeps and the shape. From five or six the repair sequence reads as a real problem being solved in order, and that is the part that gets it read again. Reading level set at setup controls the technical words.

For Yonatan, who has never once left a thing in the same shape he found it.

Common questions

What age is My Robot Friend for?

My Robot Friend is written for ages 2-8. The story is generated at the reading level you pick during setup, so the same book works at the younger or older end of that range.

How is My Robot Friend personalized?

You upload one photo of your child. That photo becomes the illustrated hero - same face shape, hair and skin tone - and stays recognizable across all 12 chapters. Their name, age and a dedication are woven in too.

How long is the book, and what formats are there?

Twelve illustrated chapters, one full-page illustration per chapter. Digital is $14.90, softcover $38.90 and hardcover $42.90 plus shipping; the hardcover is a 8x8 inch matt-laminated keepsake.

Can I see it before I pay?

Yes. The cover and the whole first chapter - artwork included - are generated free. You only pay if you want the remaining eleven chapters.
