Who Safari Explorer is for

Safari Explorer is the calmest of the animal stories. Nothing is hunted, nothing hides, and the lion cub at the end wants to play rather than to frighten. It suits a child who loves animals but has been put off by books where the animals are dangerous, and it is a common choice for a first zoo visit.

Two to six. The savanna is easy to describe out loud, which makes it good for reading to a two-year-old who wants to name everything. Around five the watering hole works as an idea in itself, that different animals share one place. Reading level is set at setup.
