Common questions
Do 7-year-olds still like personalized books?
They like good ones. What they have outgrown is name-substitution - a stock story with their name typed in. A book where the illustrated hero actually looks like them is a different proposition, and it is the one thing preset-character books cannot do.
Is this too young for an 8-year-old?
Eight is the top of our range and it works, but pick the interest carefully - a specific passion rather than a general adventure - and set the reading level high during setup. Beyond eight, most children want chapter books without pictures.
Can they read it on their own?
Yes. Set the reading level to the older end during setup and a confident seven or eight-year-old will get through it alone. The twelve chapters are short enough to feel achievable.
