Can the book include a sibling or a friend as a second character?
No, and it is a deliberate limit. The engine locks the illustrated likeness to one child so the face stays consistent across all twelve chapters; adding a second person blurs both. Non-human companions appear freely.
Is fantasy too scary for a four-year-old?
Ours are not written to frighten - the dragons are friendly and the magic is warm. If your child is sensitive to peril, the celebration and milestone stories are gentler still.
