When We Heard
Someone you love remembers exactly where they were standing when the news arrived, and so does the person beside them.
Two people in a small kitchen, one holding a phone, both completely still at the same moment.
Someone you love and their partner are about to become parents, or just have. The book follows the two of them from the day they heard the news to the first weeks at home, with the baby drawn in from a photo once there is one, and it ends on the wishes you write for the little one.

Your photos are only used to draw the people in this book - never published, sold or used to train AI. 2,450+ families since we began.
A story for more than one person: you'll add a photo of each person in it as well as the hero's, and the prices above include everyone in the book.
These are just sample lines. Your book is written fresh from your answers - their name woven through every page, and the three things you tell us quoted word for word in the chapters.

Someone you love remembers exactly where they were standing when the news arrived, and so does the person beside them.
Two people in a small kitchen, one holding a phone, both completely still at the same moment.

The hallway filled up with small socks and big plans, and nothing was in its old place.
A hallway taken over by boxes, a changing bag and a pile of very small socks.

The last chapter is a list of wishes for the newest person in the family, in your words.
The new family of three on a sofa at dusk, the smallest one asleep across both laps.
These three sample the opening, middle and ending of a 12-chapter book. All twelve are drawn with them in it when the book is made: the cover and chapter one free in your preview, the remaining eleven once you order.
And Then There Were Three is for two people becoming parents, given at a baby shower, after a birth, or to a new mother from someone who loves her. You tell us where they were when they heard, what changed at home, and what they wish for the baby, and the chapters are built on those answers. Both parents are drawn from photos, and the baby joins when there is a photo to draw from.
It works before the birth as well as after it: without a photo of the baby, the baby stays in the words and out of the pictures. It suits two mothers, two fathers, or a parent with their own parent beside them, because the second person is whoever you add.
For Noa and Eitan, who painted the nursery twice because neither would admit the first shade was wrong.
If you have given this one, we would like to hear how it landed. Send it to shushanran@gmail.com and we will add it here.

And Then There Were Three is a book about a grown-up, written in the voice of a gift book rather than a picture book. During setup you answer three short questions about them, and your answers are quoted word for word in the chapters.
You upload a photo of the person the book is about, choose man or woman, and they become the illustrated hero - same face shape, hair and skin tone - recognizable across all 12 chapters. Anyone else in the story is drawn from their own photo, and their name and a dedication are woven in too.
Twelve illustrated chapters, one full-page illustration per chapter. Digital is $16.90, softcover $44.90 and hardcover $49.90 plus shipping; the hardcover is a 8x8 inch matt-laminated keepsake.
Yes. The cover and the whole first chapter - artwork included - are generated free. You only pay if you want the remaining eleven chapters.
