Reason One
The first reason is small and specific, the kind of thing someone you love probably thinks nobody noticed.
The person you love caught mid-laugh in their own kitchen, holding the mug they always reach for.
Someone you love is the hero of twelve chapters, each one built on a reason you love them and the moment that proves it. You write the reasons in your own words, we keep them exactly as written, and you are drawn beside someone you love in the moments you shared.

A story for more than one person: you'll add a photo of each person in it as well as the hero's, and the prices above include everyone in the book.
These are just sample lines. Your book is written fresh from your answers - their name woven through every page, and the three things you tell us quoted word for word in the chapters.

The first reason is small and specific, the kind of thing someone you love probably thinks nobody noticed.
The person you love caught mid-laugh in their own kitchen, holding the mug they always reach for.

Some reasons happen on a Tuesday, over cold tea and a sink full of dishes, and they count the most.
A wet Tuesday evening, two people at the sink with tea going cold, plainly enjoying each other's company.

The last reason is the one that explains all the others, and it is written in your own words.
The final reason, set somewhere that belongs to the two of you, in warm late light.
These three sample the opening, middle and ending of a 12-chapter book. All twelve are drawn with them in it when the book is made: the cover and chapter one free in your preview, the remaining eleven once you order.
Twelve Reasons Why is the book for saying what a card never has room for. You give three reasons you love the person, each tied to a real moment, and the book is built around them, quoted exactly. It works for a partner on Valentine's Day, and just as well for a parent or a grandparent on their own day, with the giver drawn beside them.
The person receiving it can be any age; what matters is that the reasons are true and particular. It is short enough to read aloud at the table on the day it is opened, and specific enough that it never sounds like a greeting card. Reasons tied to a place or a habit give the illustrations the most to work with.
For Mira, because you hum when you think nobody can hear, and I always can.

Twelve Reasons Why is a book about a grown-up, written in the voice of a gift book rather than a picture book. During setup you answer three short questions about them, and your answers are quoted word for word in the chapters.
You upload a photo of the person the book is about, choose man or woman, and they become the illustrated hero - same face shape, hair and skin tone - recognizable across all 12 chapters. Anyone else in the story is drawn from their own photo, and their name and a dedication are woven in too.
Twelve illustrated chapters, one full-page illustration per chapter. Digital is $16.90, softcover $44.90 and hardcover $49.90 plus shipping; the hardcover is a 8x8 inch matt-laminated keepsake.
Yes. The cover and the whole first chapter - artwork included - are generated free. You only pay if you want the remaining eleven chapters.
