Buying for twins and siblings: why it is a book each

The illustrations are generated from a photograph, and the engine holds one face steady across every chapter. Ask it to hold two, and it starts blending them - the same problem a reviewer of a rival product described when two sisters who look nothing alike came back as "the same girl with very subtle differences".

So we do not offer it. Each book stars one child, and the story is written for that child’s age and interests. It is a real product limit, and we would rather tell you than sell you a book where neither twin looks right.

A book each solves the thing that makes twin gifts hard: the shared present that belongs to neither of them. Each child gets their own name on the cover, their own face inside, and their own dedication - and they can swap and read each other’s.

For twins we would pick two different stories rather than the same one twice. It gives them something to trade, and it stops the comparison of whose book is whose.

This is where it works best, because the reading level follows the age you enter. A three-year-old’s book is shorter-sentenced than a seven-year-old’s even when the story is the same, so both are actually readable rather than one being too easy and the other too hard.

A pair worth considering: give the older sibling their own adventure, and give the younger one the new-sibling story. It marks the same family moment from both sides.
